Race Description

A warm Welcome from the organisers Wetherby Runners AC & Wetherby District Lions. The event has a relatively short history, now in our sixth year, however saying that the event has quickly become a firm favourite with runners from around the region and beyond. The date of the race suits those with the Great North Run in mind as it offers a fast course and also as a tapering run the week before the “big” day in Newcastle and Gateshead.

Its a season opener for the runner looking forward to the autumn full or Half Marathons, a chance to check your pace maybe after a month off the speed work.

Is it a PB course? you ask , well maybe. UK Athletics supported ‘Power of 10’ site recorded no less than 11 of the top 25 finishers secured a new PB when they raced at Wetherby last year. The course record stands at 31 mins 53 seconds by Darran Bilton in 2010. However, regardless of whether you are a club runner or a local jogger on the road to improving your fitness “The Wetherby Run” will bring with it rewards from the friendly atmosphere

  • Mrs Julie Maguire

Please can someone get back to me soon (email) leaving a telephone number as my Daughter is getting married at Kirk Deighton church on Sunday 11th September in the afternoon and holding her reception in the “Engine Shed”. We will be expecting 120 guests. I need to discuss any potential impact the 10 Km run will have on the organisation of transport etc.
    Many Thanks
