Race Description

Another obstacle adventure race…Yea right eh !!! This one is 100% Certified Canadian. What does that mean?
We live in igloos and eat snow for breakfast. We invented poutine, and top it with back bacon; we use beer in our cereal,…Epic Meal..puleease!!
We can make a fire by snapping our fingers.
Only 10% of the country has hydro and running water.
Our terrain is the most inhospitable in the world. Hell, this course will carry snow in June. Oh did we mention the course,…its 5km..with 13 hard-core obstacles, 66 % uphill !!!
What kind of mentality does this breed??
We’ll tell you what we are “aboot”..
We are the toughest nation on the planet!
Welcome to the Met Con Blue Nation!

Taking over the hills of Blue Mountain Resort on Saturday, June 2nd, 2012 will be thousands of the toughest our fine country has to offer!

Met Con Blue will take you through 5 kilometres of grueling terrain, running up, down and across Ontario’s largest Mountain Resort. You will endure 13 hardcore obstacles strategically placed throughout the course. Obstacles like Hamburger Hill, Cargo Kong, Hells High Wall and Cold Plunge, each one created to make your victory at the finish line feel that much sweeter!

Participants can choose to take part in the regular timed race waves with age brackets, Met Con Blue’s signature Hunt or be Hunted Race OR the Heroes Race which features a chance to run the race alongside brave soldiers who sacrifice their lives for us, and in doing so have been injured, these brave soldiers are now recipients of adaptive sporting equipment provided by the Soldier On Foundation. 50% of the proceeds from the Heroes race are being donated to a Canadian Forces Soldier on Fund. We also have 2 Team waves – 10am and 2pm with the 10am heat filling up quickly and with some very creative teams vying for best costume! There are no limits to the number of team members either.

Met Con Blue will also feature supporting events such as Stratusphere Yoga area, Crossfit Box, Zorb racing, vendor area, beer garden, live bands playing throughout the day and after parties taking place in the Blue Mountain Village, it will be an entertainment experience like no other.
With thousands of toughest our fine country has to offer coming together, we felt it only fitting that on hand to lead the day will be one of Canada’s toughest competitors! 7-time WWE Women’s Champion and fitness icon, Trish Stratus! Trish guarantees that participants will be stratusfied! Stratus says, “This race has everything I loved about competing with WWE – participants of the race will be challenged to their physical limits with the obstacle course and even better will be the sense of accomplishment they will get once they complete it.”
Proudly operated all by locals, through and through! Met Con Blue is dedicated to allowing all participants the ability to excel to the highest level of fun and fitness through challenge, sportsmanship and friendship. This is truly an event for everyone. Come with friends or family, make it a day trip or stay the entire weekend.
