Race Description

Come run in “The Happiest Place in America” according to National Geographic. The San Luis Obispo Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K takes place on Earth Day 2012 (April 22). Enjoy beautiful weather as you run/walk through an authentic California small town, vineyards and farmland before finishing at the iconic Madonna Inn. The San Luis Obispo Marathon and Half benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and is a Team In Training event. The 5K race benefits the local Special Olympics chapter.

All registered athletes receive a recycled tech t-shirt, sweats bag and a Virtual Goody Bag. Marathon and Half Marathon finishers receive an Inaugural Medal. The event has made a Pledge of Sustainability to Athletes For A Fit Planet to go green and leave a small footprint.

After the race, athletes can recover in the Recovery tent and enjoy The SLO Life Expo where there will be local fresh foods, wine, microbrews and live music to celebrate their achievement.
