Race Description

Run24 takes place over the weekend of 30 June – 1 July 2012 with a tagline of ‘Run Camp Eat Sleep Run’ which says it all! It is a 24 hour race run over an 8 km / 5 mile loop of woodland trails, welcoming both experienced ultra runners and endurance virgins. Free camping, entertainment, 24 hour catering and beautiful surroundings give it an exciting festival feel and the fact that you can enter as individual runner, club, corporate team or charity makes the options limitless. There really is no excuse not to get involved if you need a new running challenge that takes you off the beaten track and want to push yourself a bit further whilst fully embracing the weather and elements of nature.

You can compete as an individual, a pair or a team of 3 to 8 runners in mixed, male or female categories, either with the aim to win one of the great prizes or just to take part and have some fun whilst meeting like-minded people and literally breathing running for 24 hours. It’s up to you how many laps you complete and how fast you run, although the organisers recommend that you should be able to run 10k comfortably.

The race starts at 12.00 noon on Saturday and ends at 12.00 noon on Sunday, running through the night. Solo runners remain on the course throughout the race taking breaks as and when needed, whilst pairs and teams need to have one runner on the course at all times throughout the 24 hour period. Head or hand torches will be required between 8.00pm and 5.00am, and the 8km course is a mixture of roads, woodland trails and grassland. The race is also chip timed and splits/distance covered will be available following the race. The winners of Run24 will be the individuals, pairs and teams that cover the most distance in 24 hours.

Entry to Run24 is now open and costs £60 for solo runners, £80 for pairs and £175 – £220 for teams, which includes free camping on site. Your friends and families are welcome too. Further race info and entry details are on the website, please go to www.run24.co.uk . You can enter online or by downloading a form from the website.

Awesome weekend! Very well organised. I was part of a group with 3 teams entered. I’m very much a novice but the atmosphere was superb and I was able to post some respectable times! Showers were a godsend and very hot. Food was excellent too. I made use of the sports massage twice which kept me going and kept me sane!
The event had a great vibe, very friendly and I had a great time. Will hopefully be back next year! Bring it on!

Brilliant! Fantastic! Superb! My running club took two mixed teams of eight to Wasing. We had the best weekend. This event was so well organised I cannot fault it. The camping area was really well set out and all the facilities were close by. The toilets were kept clean and well stocked for the whole weekend and there were free hot, clean showers. You could get a massage for a donation all day and all night. The catering was really good and very reasonably priced. The course was clearly marked and well marshalled. Great T shirt and medal at the end. We’ll certainly be going back next year! Very well done to the race organisers.

    • Hi Tish,

      Really good to hear it!

It’s great when well organised events receive positive feedback; I’m sure those involved with Run24 will be delighted to hear you had a good weekend.
