Race Description

The Mountaineer Marathon and Half is a project put together by the Junior and Senior class of Lake City Community School who enjoy running as a hobby. This is the second year for the running of the Mountaineer Marathon and Half so we are still working the kinks out. The race starts in the town part and runs up Henson Creek, for the half marathoners you will turn around before capital city(9miles). The full marathon runners you will make your way past capital city and turn around and come back the same way. Aid stations are set up at miles 3,6(turnaround for half) 9 (Capital City) and 13(turn around). We will also have drinks and what not at the finish line. As for restrooms there is a public restroom at the park, as well as a BLM porter potty on the road up.
