Race Description

The inaugural Hapalua Half Marathon will be run on Sunday March 11, 2012.
Starting at Waikiki beach, the race takes in the sights of Honolulu and goes around the volcanic crater, Diamond Head.
A unique feature is a handicap race called The Chase. Top Hawaiian athletes are given a head start on the elite athletes. Anyone can pick up the win. The 2012 Chasers are former Honolulu Marathon winner Jimmy Muindi and current champion, Nicholas Chelimo, both from Kenya.
For a team effort, there is the Hapalua Relay. Seven laps around Kapiolani Park (7×1.8m). Get a team of four to seven runners together and have some fun.
