WARM Announces Hunger Heroes 5K to Fight Food Insecurity in the Westerville Community
WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM) invites community members of all ages to participate in its Hunger Heroes 5K on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Westerville Sports Complex (325 N. Cleveland Ave., Westerville, OH 43082).
The event will begin with a Children’s Race at 8:40 a.m., followed by the 5K race at 9:00 a.m. Proceeds from the event will directly support WARM’s mission of providing food assistance and other essential resources to local families facing hardship.
Held just before Hunger Action Month in September, the Hunger Heroes 5K aims to raise awareness about the growing issue of food insecurity while bringing the community together for a morning of fun, fitness, and philanthropy. Hunger Action Month is a nationwide campaign dedicated to educating the public about hunger and inspiring action to help neighbors in need.
“Every step taken during the Hunger Heroes 5K helps strengthen our community and supports families experiencing food insecurity,” said Sara Acocks, Director of Development and Fundraising for WARM. “We are excited to join our community in fighting hunger in the Westerville area.”
