ARCHIVED RACE: Walter Phelps Memorial Phun Run @ Lee County YMCA, Leesburg, GA, United States, on Saturday 04 August 2012

After a tragic event that took Walter Phelps’ life in the summer of 2010, a foundation in his name was established to raise funds to benefit at-risk youth in our community.

This second annual 5k run/walk will again benefit the Albany Area YMCA’s Lee Branch “Reach for the Stars” summer day camp. The mission of the YMCA is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

This unique trail run will start and finish at the Lee County YMCA located at 316 Robert B Lee Drive in Leesburg, GA. Designed specifically for this event, the course offers partial shade and a serene setting.

Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 8:00 am for the 1 Mile Fun Run and 8:30 am for the 5k Run/Walk

1 Mile Fun Run: Overall Male/Female. Top three finishers male and female age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14.

5K Run/Walk: Overall Male/Female, Masters Male/Female, and top three Male/Female in age groups: 10 &under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24,25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & older.

REGISTRATION: Pre-Registration Deadline is July 21, 2012.

$15/person; $50 per family pre-registration only; late registration and day of race cost is $20/person; $12 no shirt

AWARDS: All pre-registered participants will receive a short sleeve T-shirt. Shirts are available race day as supply lasts.
