Race Description

Ultra

Run this truly unique event as a pair or in a team. This 50km Ultra is held on 10km laps along the historic Two Tunnels path – old railway tunnels that head deep under the city of Bath.

The Tunnels are 409m and 1672m in length, so for every 10km lap you will be covering 4km underground, or over 20km underground during the whole Ultra.

Each runner will collect FOUR MEDALS as they go, which interlock to create a giant 20cm x 8cm image.

LIVE results, lap times, post race massage and a selection of post race treats await the runners of this unique and historic event.

UK Athletics certified accurately measured course, reference number 236/2201c

Marathon

A truly special race that not only takes in many of Bath’s beautiful attractions but also has the longest underground sections of any running race

Cutting right under the city of Bath, the two tunnels offer a truly unique running experience. The Somerset & Dorset Railway closed in 1966 and until April 2013 the tunnels have been sealed and inaccessible until they were refurbished by Sustrans and the Two Tunnels Group. The Devonshire Tunnel is 408m long and the second Combe Down Tunnel is 1672m long. Both tunnels are well lit and well surfaced.

The Marathon course which takes you further afield through some of Bath’s famous attractions and Industrial history including Bath Abbey and the famous Palladian Pulteney Bridge (1 of one 4 in the world!)

These races are packed with history, beauty and the novelty of underground running. It’s a magical experience not to be missed!
