Race Description

Award winning event organisers aat: events have taken what would have been the race day (14th June) for one of the most prestigious and top rated 10k runs in the UK, the Weybridge10k, and turned it into a month of celebration of free virtual running throughout June.

The Weybridge 10k has attracted just under 4000 runners to the rural Surrey town in only 3 years, teaming up with aat: events in 2018 to help continue its dramatic growth.

The ‘real life’ event has been postponed until Sunday 6th December, making it the first ever Winter Weybridge 10k however the team wanted to transform their offering to something fully digital, using the latest entry platform tech from njuko, whilst keeping it free for runners of all abilities to take part.

The team hope this is a FREE incentive to allow those both new to running and seasoned runners to connect with the Weybridge 10k event, give them something for their training efforts and encourage them to take part in the race in December, especially if it’s their first ever 10k.

Matt Trevett, who launched the Weybridge 10k in 2016 commented “I love coming up with new concepts and approaches to support our runners, mostly for those that are new to the sport. Along with aat: events we wanted to keep our virtual offering free and open it up to the global beginner market to let them know that by running virtually in June they are supporting our event in December – we also wanted to introduce our new digital social medals, something unique”.
