Race Description

The Strathearn Marathon, held in beautiful Perthshire, is a new marathon in one of the best areas of Scotland for running. The race will be run for the first time in 2012, and is organised by Strathearn Harriers, a club with an established record of organising popular races such as the very successful Crieff 10k and the Simon Wake Comrie Hills Relay. We hope the race will become established as one of the friendliest Scottish marathons.

The course is accurately measured and the race is a Scottish Athletics permit event.Runners must be 18 years or over on the day of the race.

The route follows predominantly quiet B roads in Strathearn, starting and finishing at the Cultybraggan Camp just outside Comrie, with about 1500 feet of ascent to present a stiff challenge even to experienced runners.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st three male and female runners, 1st male and female Vet 40 runners, 1st male and female Vet 50 runners.

There is plenty of on-site parking.
Changing facilities, toilets and showers will be available at Cultybraggan for all runners.
Food and refreshments will be available for all runners after the race. Much of the food will be provided by local volunteers. (This is not included in your entry fee.)
First aid cover will be provided by medically trained volunteers.
