Race Description

Set in the beautiful Grimsthorpe Castle estate in south Lincolnbshire, The GrimReaper ultra marathon will take place on July 13th 2012. Now in its 3rd year, the event has grown from an initial distance of 70 miles to adding two more distance catergories of 40 miles and 100 miles. All three race take place at the same time over the same route through the fantastic historic scenery. All 3 races have a time limit of 26 hours and with no navigation required this is a perfect race for those just wanting to concentrate on the running. Those runners still running through the night will be led along the route by glow sticks. This race attracts a great mix of abilities from the fist time ultra runner to the experienced elite runners and with the runners having the option of staying over night (Fri) in their tents this creates a great atmosphere over the weekend. Many of the runners run the Half Marathon on the Sunday as well which amazes many people who see these crazy ultra runners turn up on the start line.
