Race Description

The Ultra is the 2nd in the “Conquer the Cotswolds” ultra series. The Ultra and Half Marathons are single loop courses, starting and ending in Evesham. The first ten miles of the ultra course is fairly flat, taking runners along the River Avon and along the trails towards Elmley Castle, at the foot of Bredon Hill. Here, the Half Marathon route turns back along the roads and trails, downhill to Evesham. The ultra route ascends the slope before taking you on a tour to ensure a good view of the surrounding valleys. From Bredon Hill, you will head to Winchcombe, with gentle diversions up Alderton and Langley Hills. From Winchcombe, the route follows the Cotswold Way for a few hilly miles towards Broadway. Before reaching Broadway, you leave the Cotswold Way, allowing an ascent up to Broadway Tower Country Park where you will turn for Evesham and enjoy one of our favourite descents in the area. Although there are a few minor bumps on the way, the final seven miles are gently down hill back to base.
