Race Description

The Battle of the Brampton Valley Way is a 28 mile race on 4 June 2023 on the traffic-free Brampton Valley Way.

The flat out and back route has a constantly changing feel as it cuts through the heart of rural Northamptonshire, including through the tunnels at Oxendon and Kelmarsh.

Entrants can choose which end of the Brampton Valley Way they wish to start from – Northampton or Market Harborough. This becomes the ‘battle’ – which runners will perform the best… Leicestershire or Northamptonshire?

At 28 miles or 45km, the distance is a little over a marathon thus officially making it an ultra run. The terrain and distance however, make it a good stepping stone for people training for longer distance ultra runs.
