Race Description

The Starfish Greathearts Foundation is looking for budding runners to participate in the Thames Path Challenge! Taking place on the weekend of the 13th-14th September, the challenge will see runners complete a 25km route along the River Thames. You will have the option to run one of four different routes along a 100km stretch between Putney in West London to Henley, Oxfordshire. You will then be greeted by a complimentary BBQ, glass of fizz, finisher’s medal and t-shirt at the finishing line, accompanied by free snacks, drinks, coffee and tea at the 12.5 km midpoint to help replenish yourselves!

The Thames Path National Trail is unique, with its beautiful scenery, steeped in history. The trail serves as a superb backdrop for a simply exceptional challenge, and in September 2014, you can take it on!

As an ambassador to the Starfish family, your help through your fundraising efforts will bring life, hope and opportunity to children orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS in South Africa.

“The Thames Path Challenge was hands down one of the best days running (and let’s be honest, walking) I have ever done. You are all in it together. The aid stations are so well stocked it is hard to leave but the lure of achievement, the knowledge that you are doing something amazing for a brilliant cause pulls you back out to enjoy some of the best scenery the UK has to offer. It is a special race with special people on and off the course. You won’t regret doing it.” – Kieran Alger, Thames Path Challenge Finisher 2013
