Race Description

Runners looking to test their early season condition can take advantage of professionally organised 15km event on Clapham Common at 10am on Sunday 6th March 2016. We are also holding a 5km and 10km run, with the same start time.

Take advantage of our early bird offer price of £20. Offer ends 31st January, so book now! Normal ticket price is £23.

The course is flat and fast, suitable for a PB attempt, some pre-marathon speed work or just as a good race in itself. There’s official chip timing and sports massages available afterwards.
The winner takes home a trophy and all participants will receive a medal, t-shirt and a healthy picnic basket to replenish a few calories after crossing the finish line. Facilities include baggage drop, toilets, medical support and water stations.

Those runners who haven’t taken part in organised events before but are looking for a spring goal are also welcome. The flat course will be perfect for the less competitive and support along the route should be good as the organisers are putting on a bouncy castle, face painting, a tombola and other games for all members of the family to enjoy. There is also a free 100m dash for kids.

The Starfish Breakfast Run is organised by the Starfish Greathearts Foundation, a UK-based charity that supports children with HIV and AIDS in South Africa. This year Starfish has once again teamed up Wasserman Media Group, sports and entertainment specialists, who have donated their time and expertise to make the 2016 event even better than last year.

Elinor Middleton, Global CEO, Starfish Greathearts Foundation commented, “Last year’s run was a huge success and we are aiming for an even bigger turn out this year to raise money for children orphaned by AIDS in southern Africa. We look forward to welcoming a big crowd on Sunday morning to run, cheer on their friends, or just enjoy the picnic. It’s incredible to think that just one person’s entry can provide two hot meals a day for a vulnerable child for over a week”.

Feedback from a 2015 participant: “Thanks to Starfish for putting on their Breakfast Run again. This is a really well run event. I used it as a tune-up for a half marathon I had lined up in the spring and had a good run in amongst a competitive field. There was a good atmosphere and the family came along to support me too – I think they had a better time than I did with all the stuff to do! Thanks for a great event.”
