Special Kids Special Families will hold its first annual Octo8k/1k Special Run & Wheelchair Derby fundraiser. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend! All proceeds from the event will benefit SKSF programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities and special needs. Participants will also be able to enjoy a Business Expo where various companies will be displaying information and offering free services. The Wheelchair Derby, which will begin at 9:30am, is a special attraction designed for individuals in wheelchairs in which they’ll be guided through a maze like course encouraging them to the finish line for a special prize at the end. Race fees for 8k $35; 1k$25; Derby $10. Kids 15 & under receive discount. Teams up to 15 people receive a 50% off discount. All single registered participants will receive an event t-shirt (not guaranteed after 10/25), refreshments and “swag bag” that will include coupons, vendor materials and promo items.
