Race Description

In the spirit of the famous event in Spain, runners will take off on a fast 5K course in Champaign, followed several minutes later by several local elite runners who, while running as “The Rams”, will attempt to chase them down! Our Rams include winners of local 5K and 10K races and several top finishers in the 2013 Illinois Marathon races!

The loop course winds west and south from St. John Lutheran School in Champaign around the Centennial Park area before a final dash on John Street back to the school. Can you beat the Rams to the finish line? Those that do will earn a special prize! We’re also a walker-friendly event, so bring your strollers and walk the course with Johnny the Ram!

Age-group awards to the top runners and the male / female overall winners are invited to run as Rams in 2015!

Kids Ages 0-5 can participate in a “Running of the Lambs.”, also held at St. John Lutheran Church.
