Race Description

An ultramarathon organized by KaysFIT Academy, founded by Kannan Sundararajan, a.k.a Coach Kay, also the Race Director
First edition of OOTYULTRA was conducted on the 29-Apr-2018 with international and around 280 runners across 10 states in India. 2 months of social media only campaign. Organically grown audience.
Received huge support from The Nilgiris district superintendent of police (also flagged off by him/ran 15k event with his team). The Doddabetta stretch for blocked for the traffic for the first time for a Sporting event to happen in the history of The Nilgiris.
OOTYULTRA is a perfect way to connect with the local tradition, history, natural beauty, culture and the people of Ooty and the Blue Mountains. Running in such a beautiful mountain will also provide a unique opportunity for the runners to experience the gift of nature.
OOTYULTRA is a tough ROAD running event with 60k distance with 2000 m elevation gain, with steep up/down gradients for the serious Ultramarathon loving recreational runners. Plans to scale up to 100k next year.
OOTYULTRA also opens the door for the regular amateur runners with 15k, 30k & 60k.
Run through important streets of Ooty, key Ooty landmarks, green wooded forests, and innocent village roads. The runners quickly escape into the mountains reaching the second highest peak in south India and experience viewing breathtaking sceneries
2019 will be the second edition of OOTYULTRA, expected to attract 500 runners. 1000 participants planned in the next 2 years, again grown organically.
