Aspire Running Events Ltd proudly announce the very first Old Down Country Park Family Fun Run event on Sunday 8th March 2015.

This will be the very first Old Down Country Park Family Fun Run, that will be open to anyone and to any age or ability. It has something to offer everyone. An exciting and exhilarating off road, multi-terrain course for the experienced runner plus fun runs for all the family.

The 5k/10k is a multi-terrain off road course, it begins in the idyllic grounds of Old Down Country Park before heading out for a superb 1.5 mile woodland section which can become very muddy and challenging!! The course then takes in some fantastic open space before heading back into the woods for an uphill section leading back into the park. Then the course takes in the amazing grounds of Old Down Country Park before heading to the finish line.

The 1k will also be an off road course, again taking in the beautiful grounds of the Country Park but this time will be on flat terrain. This is open to anyone of any age or ability who can either run, jog or walk around the course. This will also be buggy friendly.

The under 5’s 50m will be on flat grass within the Adventure Play area of the Park.For this event we are introducing our very first Junior Obstacle course. This will include up to 10 obstacles for children ages 9 to 14.Registration will open at 9am for competitors to collect their race packs.
At 10am the fun begins. The 1k, under 5’s 50m and the Junior Obstacle Course will all be completed before the 10/5k races begin (Estimated start time for these is 11am) but we assure you these will not start until after all the Fun runs have finished.

Everyone will get a medal for competing.

All entrants and spectators will have free access and entry to the Country park. There will be plenty of free parking, toilet facilities and there will be hot/cold food and beverages available for purchase at either the Sheppard Hut or the amazing café.

First Aid will be available and all races will be marshaled.
