Race Description

The Motor Motor 5K/10K Trail Run will enjoy its sixth year in 2023. Last year’s race welcomed 92 participants from all over the region, and we hope this is the year we finally tip into the three digit club! So register today, tell a friend, help them train, and come enjoy a beautiful late winter jaunt through the hills of the scenic Turkey River Valley in Northeast Iowa. ​
The 5K distance offers one of the most challenging courses in the area, with some 900′ of elevation gain/loss over its 3.1 miles. As a reward, runners are treated to spectacular vistas of natural and cultural history at the historic town of Motor.
Tread surface varies from gravel to grass to single track; runners should come prepared for uneven surfaces and the vagaries of mid-March weather.
The out-and-back 10K course on the Motor Mill Trail offers steadier footing thanks to the lime-chipped path, but plenty of the lung-busting climbs that make the Driftless Area so charismatic.
​Each race will have grand prizes for the overall male & female winners, along with age group awards. Each runner takes home a swag bag courtesy of our sponsors.
​Proceeds will go towards the Osborne Campground,
projected to open in April 2025.
