Race Description

For 23 years, this competition has been the main event not only because of its magnitude, but because it is crossing trough Hungary’s highest mountain the Matra. Therefore it is giving the competitor lot of nice panoramic view of the mountains and valleys.

This year the competition will be held on April 24, 2010. The 53 km (34.5mile) long course will have 2700m + altitude change, within 95 % mountain track that is marked for the competition.

Every year there are hundreds of runners and trailers in our race, and as of now, the best time is 5 hours 22 minutes in the course. Throughout the competition there will be an electronic timing system in use, as well as 3 feeding stations, and no set of mandatory gear this year. Every competitor who finishes inside the cut off time will receive a nice bag of goodies. The first 3 competitors (man and woman separately) will receive additional prizes, but no price money.
You can sign up from January 20th to April 12th. There will be no registering at the day of the competition!

Start of the race is next to Sirok village, at 6 AM. Finish line will be in Szurdokpuspoki village, up until 4 pm. (There is a 10 hour time limit to finish the race)
We ask you to visit our country and race what is one of the most popular trail races in eastern part of Europe! The organizers of this race are well experienced trail runners.
