Race Description

We pride ourselves on welcoming all to take on our 26.2 mile challenge, from some superb elite runners, to those who thought completing a marathon would never be possible. Many regular runners find this the ideal event to get a personal best time, whilst everybody finds the incredible Mancunian support throughout the course unforgettable.

There are many different ways to enter the Manchester Marathon depending on your experience reason for running.

INDIVIDUAL ENTRY
This is your ticket to one of Europe’s most popular marathon events. All entries are covered by our COVID guarantee.

FIRST TIMER PACKAGE
Includes your individual entry into the 2021 event plus two of our most popular items, so you never forget your first time:
– An official training t-shirt dispatched to you ASAP, to wear as you clock up your miles
– ALL your pictures taken on event day. These will be captured on the day and sent to you digitally

PB HUNTER
Perfect for those coming to Manchester to hit a new personal best time. On top of your entry into the 2021 event you will receive:
– Personalised medal insert (iTAB), showing your official time
– A massage straight after the event in our finish area

TAKE ON THE DISTANCE IN A TEAM OF 2 OR 4
If 26.2 miles sounds a little too daunting, why not team up with friends, family or colleagues to cover the distance between you?
The Manchester Marathon Relays offers both two and four person relay options, with each person covering part of the course. Each member of the relay team will receive a chunky medal at the finish line.

Elite Entry
To qualify for Elite Entry into the Manchester Marathon 2020, you will need to have achieved:
– Male: Under 2:30 (marathon) or 1:09 (half marathon) in the last two years
– Female: Under 2:50 (marathon) or 1:19 (half marathon) in the last two years

PARA ATHLETES
For all Wheelchair athlete and Para-Athlete enquiries, please get in touch with us on info@manchestermarathon.co.uk

We welcome all Para-Athletes, including assisted wheelchairs and racerunners, however all athletes must complete the race within the 6:20 – 7hrs cut off time.
Please note, we do not currently allow hand-cycles to enter our running races.

Racing Wheelchair Participants:
Disabled athletes competing in a ‘Racing Wheelchair’ will start at the front to be set off at 08:55am, before the main race at 9:00am.
Please note; to enter into this race you must have a racing wheelchair and complete within 2 hours for Male Athletes and 2hours 30 Minutes for Female Athletes.

Day Wheelchair Participants:
Disabled athletes using day wheelchairs, race runners or assisted wheelchairs will be filtered into the front of their wave from the Disabled Athletes Access point. You will be filtered into the appropriate wave for your estimated finish time.

Assistant/Guides:
If running with a guide/assistant, please let us know and we can issue you with one free place.

Other Disabled Athletes
You can go straight to your allocated start pen as usual; based on your expected finish time / coloured bib.
Alternatively, you are welcome to use Disabled Athletes Access Point, the designated holding area based at the start, allowing you to be conveniently filtered into your allocated start time nearer the front.
