Malibu Moves returns with their weekend of empowerment and movement at famous Zuma Beach! Race weekend kicks off on Saturday with the Expo, offering runner-focused products and services, as well as demonstrations, giveaways, and information from sponsors and vendors. Other offerings include art activities, stretching, and bounce castles for the kids. The day will include the Kids Run and 1-Mile Zuma Dash. Sunday will feature the half marathon, 10K, and 5K distances, offering scenic courses along Zuma Beach, the Santa Monica Mountains, Pacific Coast Highway, and the Ocean. The finish festival will wrap up the weekend with music, a beer garden, and plenty more to enjoy with friends and family.
Malibu Moves has introduced a brand new feature starting at its 2026 event: the Zuma Legacy Club. The Zuma Legacy Club provides the opportunity to collect six medals, one for every year you run in Malibu Moves, consecutively or spaced out over the years. The medals each carry a piece of this coastline and feature magnets on every edge so they can lock together, with the finishing set showcasing the word MALIBU.
Interested participants can also take part in the Coastal Quest Challenge, a two-day experience designed to make your Malibu Moves weekend even more memorable. Those who take on the challenge will run or walk the 1-Mile Zuma Dash on Saturday, then complete their choice of the Half Marathon, 10K, or 5K on Sunday, where they will receive their Coastal Quest Challenge medal in addition to their individual race medals.
An additional challenge offered is the California Double Challenge, a challenge that celebrates runners and walkers who take on two of Southern California’s most beautiful races in the same year: the Mountains 2 Beach race and Malibu Moves. For the challenge, you must complete Mountains 2 Beach and Malibu Moves in the same calendar year. Those who complete the challenge will earn a third exclusive challenge medal when they cross the Malibu Moves finish line.
Malibu Moves also offers the opportunity to fundraise for charitable causes through your participation. In just their first two years, participants have helped them donate over $110,000. Those who join the group of “Movers” will enjoy a curated VIP experience on race day.
