The Look Matters Gopher Marathon, The Western Canada International Marathon, is a part of the Timex National Road Race Series.
The Gopher Marathon and Half Marathon events offer an inexpensive, comfortable, no pressure opportunity to test the fruits of the long months of winter training. The traditional Good Friday date makes for a great start of the long spring weekend which can then be spent in the well deserved rest and leisure as you prepare for the remainder of the racing season.
The entry is capped at 275 participants. The $40 cost of entry makes the Gopher Attack Marathon the best value among the Canadian marathons.
Last April, mild temperature and light south-easterly breeze, combined with the flat, fast course, produced three new course records, for male marathon, and female and male half marathon.
Amazingly, 16 marathon finishers ran their Boston qualification times.
We offer low participation fee which includes Saskatchewan Sport insurance, aid stations, finisher’s medal, and prizes for top three male and female marathon and half-marathon finishers. Age group winners will also be recognized and awarded prizes.
Post race refreshments and the award ceremony are included in the registration fee.
