Race Description

SNEAK PREVIEW Video Lijiang Shangri-La 2012 course

Lijiang / Shangri-La AA Ultra Marathon – 60km / 100km 3 day stage race – Apr 28-30, 2012

Registration starts Jan 15, 2012. EARLY BIRD RATE IN EFFECT UNTIL FEB 29.

This 3 day ultra will be staged in both Lijiang and Shangri-La country side areas to take in the best the area has too offer and a different course than 2011, keeping in mind you will only have 1 night to acclimatize the course will be on average 2500m but you will be reaching 3200m for a short time before descending to lower elevations. Stunning locations and very fun for hiking or for the serious runners. Mainly old dirt roads, dirt single tracks and not very technical meaning you can go fast on the downhills.

Many flights leaving daily to Lijiang from Kunming, Shenzhen, other major cities plus extras always being added so not difficult to get there. If you need help on flights email us. Where is Lijiang?? Close to Tibet in the far West of China…This course is stunning.

Fly in on Friday April 27 as we have arranged accomodation for you (twin sharing in nice Hotel).

Day 1 – Saturday Apr 28 (early bus leaving to destination – race starting around 6am)

Day 2 – Sunday Apr 29

Day 3 – Monday Apr 30 (day 3 will be finished around 1pm so it is possible to get flight out this day).

*note that Tuesday May 1st is a public holiday in some countries like HK and you might want to relax or take in the old city this day.
