Entries opened on New Year’s Day for the 29th Knowle Fun Run which is on Sunday 13th May this year, and already hundreds of runners have made their New Year’s resolution to run in Solihull’s biggest fundraising event of its kind and have entered online.
‘Why not make 2012 the year you join them and enjoy the fantastic community atmosphere of this great 5 mile run on traffic-free streets of Knowle,’ says organising Knowle and Dorridge Lion Adrian Harris. ‘Last year over 2,000 runners from all over the country help us raise over £38,000 for charity.’
There are trophies and prizes to be won in individual and team categories of all ages and all Mini runners will receive a free T-shirt
This year’s beneficiaries will be the Alzheimer’s Society, Crossroads Care (Birmingham & Solihull), Dorridge & Knowle Scout groups and local causes. ‘Not everyone will get their runs sponsored, some will prefer to make a donation when they enter online instead. We welcome runners who wish to use the Knowle Fun Run to raise funds for their own cause,’ says Adrian. ‘Each year our aim is to cover all the costs of the event before anyone enters, through the generosity of corporate sponsors and advertisers.
