Race Description

Go wild through the night on Scotland’s toughest night half marathon. Run or walk 15 dark miles over rugged hill trails with just the glow of your head torch to lead the way. See the natural beauty of Glen Tanar’s ancient Scots pine forest in a spectacular new light.
Enjoy the dance warm up with our qualified personal trainers before setting off from Aboyne Community Centre towards Glen Tanar. Race hard or just jog round – the average finishing time for runners is 2.5 hours and 6 hours for walkers. Your race/walk time will be recorded by electronic chip timing. The course is clearly way-marked and there will be a hot drinks station at the halfway point. Total ascent over the course is 2,247 miles / 685meters. At the finish, hot coffee and tea awaits … well deserved after 15 miles of trails and tracks through the dark Scottish winter forest!
Braemar Mountain Rescue Association is our nominated charity partner. The rescue team will also be at the event to provide additional safety support to all participants in partnership with our professional staff and first aid teams.
