Welcome to the first annual running of Haulin’ in the Holler, a trail run through the beautiful single track trails of the West Virginia foothills in Putnam County. This event entails a 25k/5k trail run and kids run hosted by the boys of Boy Scout Troop 164 Eleanor, WV and the West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners

Race Times: The 5K and 25K Races will begin at 8:30 AM and the kids race begins at 9:30 AM
Location:The race will be located in Putnam County Park in Eleanor, WV.
Directions:From Charleston, WV Take Exit 40 (Rt 35 towards Point Pleasant)Take the Winfield exit (Rt 34) – first main exit on Rt 35. Turn right at bottom of the exit. Turn right on Rt 817 (stop light). Follow sign to Eleanor (right turn to cross bridge). At end of bridge turn left towards Eleanor. Once in town of Eleanor follow signs to Putnam County Park.
From Huntington, WV Take Exit 39. At stop light, turn left towards Winfield. Continue on Rt 34 to stop light (Wendy’s on right). Turn right on Rt 817.Follow sign to Eleanor (right turn to cross bridge). At end of bridge turn left towards Eleanor. Once in town of Eleanor follow signs to Putnam County Park.
From Gallapolis, OH/Point Pleasant, WV Travel south on Rt 35. Turn left at Buffalo, WV bridge (Rt 62). At end of bridge, turn right onto Rt 62. Once in town of Eleanor follow signs to Putnam County Park.
Race Registration:Entry fees for 25k are $40 before February 13, 2012 and $50 before March 12, 2012.
Entry fees for the 5k are $20 before February 13, 2012 and $30 thereafter.
Entry fees for the kids run are $5
Refunds on the 25k only will be granted minus $10 until March 1, 2012. No refunds after March 1.
Race registration For the 25K will close by March 12, 2012. Kids Fun Run and 5K registration will close by 8:00 AM on March 24, 2012 race shirts for 5K and Kids run not guaranteed if registration received after March 13, 2012
5k and kids race runners will receive cotton t-shirt. Cotton t-shirts will be standard men sizing.
25k runners will receive Patagonia short sleeve silkweight shirt.Patagonia’s will be male/female sizing, Men=s,m,l,xl and Women=xs,s,m,l,xl

Packet Pickup:Packets can be picked up between 5:30-9:00 PM at the pre-race dinner Friday, March 23, 2012 located in the room above the Eleanor Volunteer Fire Department and 6:00-8:00 AM Saturday March 24, 2012 at the concession stand in Putnam County Park in Eleanor.
Pre-Race Meal:There will be a pre-race meal on Friday, March23, 2012 from 6:00-8:30 PM located in the room above the Eleanor Volunteer Fire Department. The menu will consist of spaghetti, Italian Chicken with noodles, tossed salad, bread, cookies, tea, coffee, water, and soda. The pre-race meal is included in all runners registration additional tickets may be purchased for guests for $10 each. Children 5 and under are free
25k Aid Stations:There will be 3 Aid stations for the 25k race one around mile 1.5 and the others placed around the 5 mile and the 10 mile mark. The first aid station will have water and sports drink only, the other 2 aid stations will contain water, sports drink, pb&j, fruit, chips, pretzels, and more.
The 5k will have 1 aid station placed around the half-way mark and will contain only water and sports drink
Post-Race Meal: A post race meal will be offered beginning at noon. The menu will consist of different types of soup, chili, sandwiches, tea, water, and coffee. Post-race meal is included For all runners.
Runner’s Meeting:There will be a runner’s meeting beginning at 8:00 PM at the pre-race meal on Friday.
Awards:Awards will be given for top 3 overall, top 2 in each age group, overall Master, and top 2 military participants in both the 25k and 5k races. All runners will recieve finish award in all races.
Age groups in 5k are: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over.
