Race Description

13.1 Mile Half Marathon through the historic border city of Carlisle.

The Half Marathon will start from the magnificent Carlisle Castle, crossing Castle Way and heading through Carlisle city centre before heading out into the countryside and through the picturesque villages of Cumwhinton, Wetheral and Scotby. On their return into the city, runners will come through Bitts Park ready for the grand finish on the track in The Sheepmount Athletics Stadium.

Preceding the Half Marathon, CFM Radio’s Cash For Kids Family Fun Run will start at 9am at The Sheepmount. Local schools and families will run the Bitts Park route whilst at the same time raising much needed funds for underprivileged children in our area for Cash For Kids. It’s strictly for fun and it’s all about relaxed exercise, accomplishing personal goals, raising money for a worthwhile cause, and having a laugh in the process. No times, no pressure, no sweat – just some easy moves and lots of laughs. The run is suitable for all the family.
