Race Description

The Global Community 5k is a charity walk/run to benefit Oxfam International’s work with Syrian refugees and the Refugee Resettlement Program of Catholic Charities of Onondaga County. It is an attempt to support innocent civilians who’ve endured incredible hardship and give them the safety, good health, and opportunities of which they’ve been robbed by violence and oppression.

To celebrate the rich diversity of our community, runners are encouraged to dress up to represent a specific nationality, ethnicity, or culture. For example, one could wear red, white, and blue to represent the US. No matter where we are from, however, we must unite to support those seeking refuge and alleviate their suffering.
