ARCHIVED RACE: Friends of Patuxent Run for the Refuge 5K @ Patuxent Research Refuge, North Tract, 230 Bald Eagle Drive, Laurel, MD, United States on 30 September 2012

Please join us for our third annual Friends of Patuxent Run for the Refuge 5K.

The Refuge was established in 1936 and is the only national wildlife refuge to support wildlife research. The Refuge is world renowned for its research on endangered species such as the Whooping Crane. By participating in this benefit race, you will be directly contributing to the continuance of this vital research and the environmental education, outreach and recreation missions of the Patuxent Research Refuge.

5K Course

Starting near the Viewing Area, the route will go counter clock wise on Wildlife Loop on an asphalt and gravel road, going towards the Contact Station. The route continues on hard packed dirt trails, passing Rieve’s Pond and looping back to the beginning.

Portions of this route are somewhat rocky, so please watch your footing. Also, please note that if there is rain, portions of this route may be muddy.

Early bird: $20
September 1st: $25
September 23rd: $30

Race day registration will be available from 8:00am to 8:45am. The race will start promptly at 9am. Sorry, no refunds.

Shirts

Custom designed t-shirts for registered runners. Please register early – it helps with our planning and inventory. We do our best to satisfy our runners, but we cannot guarantee shirts for race day pick up.
