Race Description

The ‘FlaminGO! 10k Run’ is a multi-terrain 2-lap course, passing through the zoo, theme park and golf course areas of Flamingo Land Resort, Yorkshire. 600 people over the age of 16 will have the chance of running past Flamingo Land’s most iconic attractions, including Mumbo Jumbo, the Guinness world record holder for the steepest rollercoaster in 2009. In this unique run, participants will also have the opportunity to pass by some of our zoo animal exhibits.

The run aims to raise £6,000 profit for African forest conservation in Magombera forest, Tanzania. So far, the donations raised have helped thousands of African villagers, promoting education and development. This has been achieved whilst protecting forest sustainability and the vulnerable species which live there, including the threatened Red Colobus Monkey and the Magombera Chameleon.

Our run page on the Flamingo Land website has a link to a sponsorship form if you want to help us raise even more money for conservation! Every runner will get a golden medal as a memento at the end and there is a range of prizes for the fastest runners. While the run is taking place, spectators can sit and unwind in our spectator area by the start and finish line, where food and drinks are available. All runners will receive free entry into the zoo following the run (but please be advised normal winter admission prices will apply for spectators). All runners please feel free to dress up in animal costumes if you fancy! Visit our run page for a guide of what to do on the day or feel free to contact us for more information.
