Race Description

The DK Movement Cares 5K Run aims to bring the community together, participate in a physical activity, and support a common cause that is meaningful to them. Our First Annual 5K will take place on August 26, 2023 at Bridge Community Church located at 43 School Street Bristol CT 06010. Event will start at 8:00AM with our Kids Fun Run following at 8:30 AM the 5K Run. Fitness Walkers are welcomed and will line up behind the runners for a one mile course. Registration and Packet pick up is at the Bridge Community Church parking lot between 7:00 AM-8:00 AM. Award Ceremony follows after 5K Run completed.

Event Fee is $35 for Runners, $30 for Fitness Walkers and Free for Kids Run (children under 8yr old). Registration include entry To 5K Run, Official DK MOVEMENT CARES 5K T-Shirt, Finisher place MEDAL / Participation MEDAL, Official RACE BIB With Timing chip, SWAG BAG with Sponsors Promotional Materials and Kid Run participants receive a free T-Shirt. Cash prizes for overall male and female winners: 1st Place $150 , 2nd Place $75 and 3rd Place $50.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Bristol Special Olympics and the Agape House Homeless Outreach.

The Bristol Special Olympics- The mission of Bristol Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

The Agape House Homeless Outreach- The Agape House, Inc. is a non-denominational ministry creating neutral ground where Christ-centered churches can work side-by-side to reach a unique population of our local community. Our mission is to serve God and the community by allowing the love of Christ to shine through us. Those who benefit from these services have been homeless on a long term or short term basis as well as people in need.

We will have a special guest author of “I AM LINCOLN” Melissa Ramos whose books are dedicated to her son Lincoln who is autistic. There will be a book signing with Lincoln and Melissa and the books will be free on behalf of our organization (limited supplies).
