Race Description
The objective of the event is to visit as many control sites as possible within 3 hours – but as the controls have differing points values route planning is as important as fitness. In addition there are penalty points if you are back late! these will be deducted from the control points you have collected. The winner is the person who has collected the highest points total after deductions. In the event of a tie the competitor with fastest time is the winner.
All the events will be within the Peak District National Park and will be on hilly terrain. Running will principally be on rights of way such as footpaths and bridleways, but will definitely be mostly off road and strenuous in nature.
Control sites will be identified by red & white orienteering “kites” to which a SPORTident box will be attached. “Dib” in the SPORTident boxes at the start, finish, all controls visited and the download box at the end to get on the spot results. SPORTident dibbers can be hired from the organisers if you do not own one of your own.
The event is sponsored by Racekit and run under Fell Running Association rules.
