Race Description

Coach Tom Burek was an active collegiate swim coach and central Illinois swim coach who was well known in many communities. Although he fought COVID 19 for 42 days he eventually passed away in December of 2020. To honor his coaching legacy and keep the memory of this amazing man alive his family has planned a 5k or 1 mile run/walk at Lake Bracken Illinois to hopefully raise enough money to create an endowment scholarship in his honor at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois. Coach Tom will always be remembered for making anyone feel like family, especially his swimmers. You can either donate to the scholarship fund or register to run for fun. The run includes a tshirt and food/swimming afterward at Lake Bracken Country Club Pool. Please help the family of Coach Tom Burek. Any and all donations are appreciated!
