Race Description
** NEW start/finish location with a flat and short walk to the start **
The Cheddar Gorge Challenge races are amongst the most scenic events in the country! With a start and finish located right on the gorge edge you are in for some beautiful running. There is mixture of open fields, woodland running and rock paths making this a great all round off road challenge.
The trails have one or two climbs, most notably the Hell Steps, a little longer than they might first appear. But from there you will experience breath taking cliff top running as you run along the gorge edge towards the first drinks station.
The route is then mainly downhill with some open fields and rocky sections which makes it a great course for the new or experienced trail runner.
The Half Marathon and Marathon head further afield and include a trip to Beacon Batch, the highest point on the Mendip Hills with amazing views over to Wales
There are large custom medals, refreshments and ice pops awaiting the runners at the finish line!
