Race Description

Racing across mountains, hills, fells and trails in Ultra-marathon distances is great for the soul, much like in our Calderdale Way Ultra. However, the opportunity to record fast, flat miles over Ultra distances is not often achievable. For this reason, we created The Canalathon.

No navigation needed, no hill climbing necessary, just worry about getting from point A to B.

Each year we have done the Canalathon we have added to the race features, this year is no different. We are offering a camping option from within the grounds of the new Race HQ at the Yorkshire end, The Sowerby Bridge Cricket Club. There will also be full access to showers, changing rooms, bar and food services, all in this recently refurbished facility. The Club was hit hard by the flooding in December 2017 and has risen from depths of the flood to become one of the shining lights within Calderdale Valley Area. We thank them for their support and its good we can give something back to Club here.
