Race Description

The 7th Bollington Nostalgia Hill Race took place last July (in aid of Bridgend Centre, an independent registered charity) and amazingly enough we had perfect weather for the race yet again. Every year we have great support and this time athletes from as far afield as Durham and Pudsey and Bramley were brave enough to compete.

119 wonderfully enthusiastic runners set off on this challenging 11.4km multi-terrain route following the 5th Nostalgia Trail, ‘Drifting through the Past’, which weaves around Bollington and the surrounding countryside. This race offers some challenging terrain taking in road, pastureland, moorland, and canal towpath interspersed with three steep uphill sections totalling 372m.

We are told that this is one of the best marshalled races that anyone attends. The Centre is open to the public from 10am-2pm for partners/children to browse our charity shop and volunteers prepare drinks, sandwiches and cakes for sale during and after the race.
