The unique course starts and ends on the path at the main entrance of Spencerport Depot and Canal Museum. It is the only active road marathon in Monroe County, NY.

It guides you through quiet neighborhoods and takes you along the Heritage Trail (flat, largely packed earth). With a mix of ups, downs, and flats, you experience both challenging portions and sections of relative ease. As a certified course, those looking to qualify for Boston can give it a go for two years out. It is just after the deadline for qualifiers for 2027, so any who do it would use the time for 2028. Not looking to do that fast or that long? We’ve got you covered!

There is a generous 7.5-hour cutoff to do any number of quarters of a marathon (1, 2, 3, or 4). Having a tough day? Drop down during the race with no penalty, so long as you complete as least one full lap.

Early registrants get a thank you shirt. Participants get a seasonal amenity kit, a single-serve barbecue kit, coupons from Union Street Coffee House, and chances to win performance awards and raffle prizes, such as barbecue sauce from Texas Bar-B-Q Joint, our premier sponsor. Finishers get medals. Post-race, there will be chiropractic services from HealthSource Chiropractic and a barbecue bar, including options for those who don’t eat meat or dairy.

Participants are encouraged to bring donations for the food shelf or Cartons for Christmas.
