Race Description

This is a fast, flat course run through scenic, residential smallholdings in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Traffic is not a problem. The difference between the highest and lowest point is only 70 metres. The 10 kilometre race is run as an out and back course over the first five kilometres of the marathon route. Current route has been used since 2006 although race has been in existence since 1991. No of entries for marathon 600 and for 10km 300. Aspen Pharmacare has sponsored the race since 2007.

You can enter the day before the race at the start venue from 16h00 to 20h00. Late entries are taken at the start from 04h00. There is no late entry fee.

Marathon starts at 05:00, 10km starts at 06:00. Entry fee for marathon R70-00, Entry fee for 10km R30-00. Temporary licence fee R25-00. Licensed athletes 60 years or older enter free. T-shirts to first 300 entries in 42km and first 100 entries in 10km.

Food stalls and refreshments are available at the finish. Shopping centre within 100 metres. Toilet facilities only available at finish. Safe parking on school grounds at start. Start and finish at Lorraine Primary School, Lorraine, Port Elizabeth.

PRIZES

42km
The first five men and five women finishers receive gold medals. The next 100 receive silver medals and all other finishers receive bronze medals.
10km
The first five men and five women finishers receive gold medals. The next 50 receive silver medals and all other finishers receive bronze medals.

There are age category prizes as well as lucky draw prizes for both races.
