Race Description

This is an annual 5k walk, 5k/10k fun run held the Saturday before Mother’s Day since 2007. It was established as a fundraiser and a mental health and suicide awareness event after Andrew Dunn died by suicide in December of 2006 at the age of 23. We encourage our walkers and runners to come to this event to remember those that they may have lost to suicide, but even more importantly for themselves or for loved ones that they are supporting through difficult times. The event has evolved into a fun and inspirational day and has grown every year, since it’s conception! Teams are welcome and encouraged, as are families, people walking their dogs (kept under control at all times) as well, we have more and more serious runners every year!! There is a clock on the start/finish line, for them to record their times. Medals are awarded for top walkers and runners, sponsored by the Running Room. We have an amazing silent auction, 50/50 draw, entertainment, a kids craft table, magicians and a free BBQ for all of our participants.
