Race Description

The FirstEnergy Akron marathon, Half Marathon, and Team Relay on Saturday, September 28 in Akron, Ohio is the perfect mix of a hometown feel and a big-city event. Choose from the Marathon, the Half Marathon, or the Team Relay, which is the marathon course broken into five legs ranging from 4.2 miles to 6.9 miles.

Late September is the perfect time to run a race in Ohio, with temperatures usually hanging out in the mid fifties. The course features rolling hills and is the ultimate foot tour of Akron, home of LeBron James, the Black Keys, Chrissie Hynde, and Quaker Oats!

Along the way, you’ll pass historic landmarks, colorful neighborhoods, and majestic Summit Metro Parks. You’ll start in downtown Akron, cross the all-America bridge, and weave past the Akron Art Museum, The University of Akron, Firestone Park, the Towpath Trail, Sand Run Parkway, and more.
