ARCHIVED RACE: 5K COMPETITIVE RACE &COMMUNITY RUN / WALK Vancouver BC October 29 2011

Looking for a fun way to support communities and to practice being physically active. Then be involved with the APACC Competitive 5 kilometre Race and Community Run/Walk to be held in Musqueam on October 29th 2011.

Some highlights of this event for the whole family are:

• A competitive running 5k race to enter, or support by drumming on the route!
This Aboriginal event will be have three main categories: First Nations, Métis, and Inuit
➢ A time chipped competitive race with ALL age categories above 10 years of age
➢ An awards ceremony for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for each age category are recognized.
➢ A $500 cash prize to the fastest competitive Aboriginal female AND male racer

• A community running and walking event
➢ Free registration for people who are 10years old and younger, or older than 70 years old
➢ A raffle ticket for each participant when they cross the finish line
➢ An extra raffle ticket for people in costumes
➢ A raffle draw will happen right after the awards ceremony.
➢ This event is open to everyone.

Supporting Health and Wellness in Aboriginal Communities
All profits earned from this fundraising event will go back into benefiting the Aboriginal communities across Canada in the way of grants focused on building leaders in sports, recreation, fitness, traditional health, and wellness. APACC is a new network for Aboriginal people who are involved in Sports, Recreation, Fitness and Traditional Activities whose vision is to establish and expand relationships between individuals engaged in physical activity by improving access to resources and promote exposure to health and wellness opportunities.

BC.
