Race Description

Manchester Parks & Recreation has once again teamed up with the Manchester-Essex Rotary Club for our 4th Annual Run the Heater 5K Road Race & 1K Kids Fun Run. The Heater is the traditional route that early citizens of Manchester used to warm up their horses. This 3.1 mile route celebrates this Manchester tradition and will warm up your body on Saturday, November 2nd. The 5K race will begin at 9:15 am and the Kids Fun Run will begin at 10:15 am. This event will be held rain or shine. Join your friends for this annual run/walk through our town.

5K COURSE:
Due to anticipated construction at Singing Beach this fall, we will be using a revised route this year which will begin and end at Manchester-Essex Regional High School. The 5K course will start on Lincoln Street in front of the High School. It will travel up Lincoln St. to Arbella St to Pleasant St Ext. It will go down Pleasant St. to Pine St to Central St. From Central St. it will go to Beach Street; turn down Old Neck Rd to Sea St. From Sea St. it will travel to Summer St and then back to Lincoln St. The kids fun run will start in front of the High School on Lincoln Street and we run down the street and back again.

The first 150 participants will receive a long sleeve cotton race T-Shirt, & goody bag. Prizes will be awarded to the top winners in each age group. All runners will have official chip timing provided by the North Shore Timing Co. Proceeds from this years race will benefit the Parks & Recreation Dept Scholarship Fund as well as support the mission of the Manchester-Essex Rotary Club.
