Fantastic race for those who like something different. Very tough course, but the scenery across the moors is very rewarding. Not for the faint hearted however, no navigation aids are provided, navigation is down to the runners themselves, and every year at least one runner will go astray.
You are likely to find yourself running solo for much of the race, and there are boggy sections where it is possible to sink in up to thigh level. Personally I love the solo sections
The experience of crossing the moors in this way is simply fantastic though. The race is well organised, and the checkpoints are well stocked. They even provide free beer at the finish line, well received after 10hr of running / trecking.
