Race Description

The 19th Annual Race for the Future 5K Run/Walk and Kids Dash to benefit the Lee’s Summit Educational Foundation and the Carrie Foresee Memorial Scholarship Fund will be held Sat. Oct. 10 at L.S. West High School. Come join this exciting community event!

PACKET PICK-UP: Friday, October 9, noon to 6:30 p.m. at the Stansberry Leadership Center, 301 NE Tudor Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086 or Race Day, Saturday, October 10, 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. at Lee’s Summit West High School Activity Complex, 2600 SW Ward Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64082.

RACE RESULTS: Each 5K participant will be assigned a specific bib number with attached timing chip. The disposable bib number/chip system is extremely accurate and will quickly provide race results.

KIDS DASH: Kids Dash for children up to 6th grade begins on the track at the conclusion of the 5K Run/Walk. Children race in groups with like-age kids. The oldest children run approximately 200 meters (half lap). The youngest children run approximately 50 meters. All participants receive a participation ribbon.

5K AWARDS: Awards are given to the overall male and female winner and to the top three male and female winners in the following age groups: Up to 14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and over.

DREAM PARTNER: Those who cannot attend the Race can still participate as a “Dream Partner” and receive a special Race t-shirt.
