75% of the net proceeds stay in Maine to fund programs that focus on screening, education, & treatment.
25% of the net proceeds support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Research Program
The Komen Maine Race for the Cure® joins thousands of breast cancer survivors and activists around the globe as part of the world’s largest and most progressive grassroots network fighting breast cancer. Since its inception in 1997, the Komen Maine Race for the Cure has invested more than $2.6 million in local breast cancer screening, treatment and education programs, and over $780,000 breast cancer research around the world. 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the Komen Maine Race for the Cure® stay in the State of Maine; while the remaining 25 percent goes to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Programs supporting research programs around the world.
