What’s the meaning of “Sticks and Biscuits”?

– This Thanksgiving 5K is organized by the Palmyra Ice Hockey Club, which uses “Sticks”, and “Biscuits” is hockey slang for the puck.

The Sticks and Biscuits is one of the most successful Thanksgiving Day 5K’s in Central PA. In order to give all participants the best possible experience, this year’s race is being limited to 1,700 entries. Entries received by midnight on November 16 also get our famous long-sleeve tech shirt! This year’s race helps fund the Palmyra Ice Hockey Club and also benefits local charities.

Child Care at Kidmazium (sign-up children for child-care through race registration, limited to 50 children, must be potty-trained, maximum age = 12)
5K entries rec’d by November 8 get our famous Long-SleeveSticks and Biscuits Dri-Fit “Tech” Shirts guaranteed for entries (shirts will be distributed on a first-come basis for entries received after 11/16)
Kids Fun Run entries rec’d by Nov. 16 get a cotton Sticks and Biscuits Tee.

Race Schedule:

Advance Packet Pickups and late registration: 11/27 Noon to 6:30 pm at Cross Fit Hershey
Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup 6:30am – 7:45am
5K Race starts at 8:15am
Kids Fun Run at 8:15 (1 mile, kids age 12 and under, on the adjoining turf field). Weather permitting, Kids Run will not be held if the turf field is covered in too much snow.
