Race Description

Night & Day Challenge

14 hours of non stop racing, starting at 22:00 on Saturday and finishing at 12:00 noon on Sunday.
Race through the night and enjoy a brunch with your fellow competitors at around 12 noon the following day.

Disciplines include trail running, mountain biking, navigation and micro navigation, and some special stages, such as SUP, Archery, Climbing Wall, and so on, covering a maximum distance of 140k, or as little as 80k for those who choose a more direct route between transitions.

Pairs or Solo Entry, Early Bird Price £95 per person, rising to £105 from 1st April 2018.

This is a points score event, and the person with the highest number of points will be the winner. Competitors start with a running stage, and Checkpoints will be worth different values throughout the event. There will be some mandatory Checkpoints along the most direct route between transitions. Once you receive your maps at registration, you will see the most direct route to complete the event will be approximately 80k, manageable by all within the 14 hours. The faster and fitter will cover a greater distance by collecting additional satellite checkpoints, located off this most direct route. Teams/Solos should progress between the Transitions at a similar rate due to set time windows. This will enable us to keep track of your progress and ensure you feel looked after throughout the 14 hour period. You can expect to contend with approximately 6 hours of darkness from the start of the event and, hopefully, it will not be too cold as we will be in July and the English summer months! You will need to plan your strategy carefully once you collect your maps on race day. The control/checkpoints will be located at easy to identify features/junctions. The checkpoint boxes will not be hidden at their locations, and glow-sticks may be positioned to aid locating the boxes at the controls during the night.

Sunset on 14th July – 21:11
Sunrise 15th July – 05:03

Registration will be open from 7pm at the Registration location in Bentley Copse Activity Centre.

All competitors start on foot at 22:00.

All should finish back at the Start location by 12:00 noon the following day.

Finishers’ Brunch is included in the entry price and will be available from 09.30am.
